Reefscape (2025)

2025 FRC Season: DIVE

REEFSCAPE

REEFSCAPE presented by Haas is the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition challenge. Two alliances consisting of three teams each compete in timed matches to perform various tasks-score coral, score algae, and climb to the surface. Alliances earn additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and for cooperating with their opponents.

RoboWhales were Champions at the Wake County District Event and made it to the Finals at the UNC Pembroke District Event.

We qualified for World's, finishing 8th in the NC FRC State Championship. This season we won the Innovation in Control Award, Autonomous Award, and Industrial Design Award. Our robot in Whirlpool competed in FIRST NC District events: UNC Pembroke, Wake Forest, and the State Championship at UNCG before heading to Houston, TX to compete at Worlds.

Reefscape

Reefscape features swerve drive and an intake that collects the coral in order to score it in the reef. The intake then feeds the coral into our end effector, which can score it into any level of the reef. Our end effector can also collect algae and shoot it into the net. Our robot has variable degrees of shooting and uses Limelight to aim. Our auto can reach up to 4 coral, or 1 coral and 2 algae.

2024 FRC Season: CRESCENDO

CRESCENDO

CRESCENDO presented by Haas is the 2024 FIRST Robotics Competition challenge. Two alliances consisting of three teams each compete in timed matches to perform various tasks--score notes, amplify their speaker, and harmonize onstage. Alliances earn additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and for cooperating with their opponents.

Whirpool features swerve drive and an intake that flips out of the robot to pick up the orange note. The intake then feeds the note into our shooter by flipping back into the robot, and the shooter accepts and shoots the note. Our shooter has variable degrees of shooting and uses Limelight to aim for the speaker from any position on the field.
